Teenage pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is so wrong, if you are 13 you should really not be having a baby. If you have a baby at such a young age you would not be responsible enough to look after the child. You might have to move out of your own house,  so you can have more room for all the baby's needs.

In my opinion Teenage pregnancy is not a major global issue. But it could become a major/big global issue if more and more teenagers keep getting pregnant at a young age. If teenagers waited until they were older they wouldn't have to worry about becoming pregnant. Teenagers shouldn't be proud of becoming pregnant at a young age, but that doesn't mean they should be punished and constantly reminded about it. Some people would say that having a teenage pregnancy ruins your life, and it can, but not always. If a teenager worked part time as a baby sitter or watched a child minding facility they would have a better understanding of how much work, attention and care children need; rather than keeping the baby and not being able to take care of it properley. If you didn't want to keep and raise the baby but also didn't want to get an abortion you could give your baby up for adoption. Giving up your baby isn't a bad thing, it means your child would have a better chance of growing up, and would have (a) parent(s) that could handle looking after a child properley. Teenage pregnancy could stress the young girl and maybe her boyfriend out. They might not have enough money or space for a baby. I'm sure their family and maybe some friends would help buy essentials, toys or clothes for the baby. The teenagers could also leave school after the baby is born to look after and spend more time with it.

Babies having babies.

Here is some information about teenage pregnancy.

Babies Having Babies!
Rip n Roll takes a hard look at teenage pregnancy.

About 4 out of 10 girls in the United States will get pregnant by age 20 - about 1-million of them each year. Most will say they did not use protection because they weren't planning to have sex. Such life-altering choices must be considered in advance, says the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
Teen pregnancy is one of the most critical issues facing America today. The explosion of out-of-wedlock teen births is a crisis that threatens to undermine our nation. Each year, one million American teenagers become pregnant. 175,000 give birth to their first child. As a result, the United States now has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the Western World.
The costs of teen pregnancy are staggering. Teen mothers are less likely to complete high school, less likely to get married, and more likely to go on welfare than their peers. And the odds are stacked against the children of teen parents from the minute they are born. Their health is poorer, their cognitive development is slower, and their behavioral problems are worse than their peers. Teen pregnancy robs teens of their childhood and their futures as productive adults. It also robs their children, and their children's children.
The teen pregnancy crisis costs taxpayers an estimated $6.9 billion in lost tax revenues and increased spending on public assistance, health care, foster care and the criminal justice system. As a nation, we can no longer afford the consequences of teen pregnancy.

Teenage Pregnancy, Facts you should know

Statistics can be boring. But the Statistics on teenage pregnancy are alarming

* Some 560,000 teenage girls give birth each year. Almost one-sixth of all U.S. births are to teenage women.
* Babies born to young teen mothers have a higher risk of serious health problems.
* Physical and mental birth defects affect many babies born to very young women. The high rate of teenagers having babies is a national health and social problem that demands attention.
Thin_Wandering40F3.gif (917 bytes)
Health Risks to the Teenage Mother
The teenage mother has special problems, physically and emotionally.
* The death rate from pregnancy complications is much   higher among girls who give birth under age 15 than among older mothers.
* The teenage mother is more likely to be undernourished and suffer premature or prolonged labor.
* During the first three months of pregnancy; seven out of ten pregnant teenagers do not see a doctor or go to a clinic.
* Poor eating habits, smoking, alcohol and drugs increase the risk of having a baby with health problems.
Thin_Wandering40F3.gif (917 bytes)
The baby growing inside a mother is in a most dependent, and often risky, place. Low birth weight is the most immediate health problem. Babies born to teenagers often are born too small, too soon. Low birth weight babies may have the following:
* Immature organ systems (brain, lungs, heart).
* Difficulty controlling body temperature and blood sugar levels.
* Mental retardation.
* A risk of dying in early infancy that is much higher than among normal weight babies (5 1/2 pounds or more).

Thin_Wandering40F3.gif (917 bytes)
Consequences of Teenage Pregnancy
The future does not often hold great promise for a teenage mother and her child.
* Two out of three pregnant teenagers drop out of school.* With her education cut short, the teenage mother may lack job skills. The income of teen mothers is half that of those who first gave birth in their 20s. The teenage mother may become financially dependent on her family or on welfare. * Teenage marriages have a much greater chance of ending in divorce.

If you are pregnant, you can increase your chances of having a healthy baby:

  • Get regular prenatal care from your doctor or clinic.
  • Eat properly.
  • Stop smoking, stop drinking alcohol.
  • Don't take any drugs unless prescribed by your doctor.

This graph shows that teenage pregnancy is slowly going down. But this graph is not global, it's only in the USA. This shows that it's not a humanity problem, as it can be solved, but making the right decisions and choices.

By Kai Fei

This picture tells us that having a baby at a young age is irresponsible. In this picture, the young mother doesn't even know what she's going to be taking care of. She's irresponsible and is not yet mature enough to take care of herself, let alone a baby or a puppy.

teenage pregnancy solution

There is nothing much you can do about it really you cant trust  some teenagers. For a solution you could make a law that teenagers have to use protection and if they dont they can get fined for it so we can stop it. You should have to tell the goverment or something and if you are under aged you get a bigger fine the younger you are.

By Holly

This image shows how shocking teenage pregnancy is. It's not only teenagers getting pregnant, but also children. The title 'Children Having Children' sound horrifying. Because when ever you think of a child, you think that they are innocent, not having a baby.

Why is teenage pregnancy happening?

This is a very good question with many different answers. This is because teenagers aren't using protection and not getting the injection that prevents you from having a baby.

Teenage Pregnancy

This is happening all around the world this is such a big problem in America teenage girls are getting pregnant just for the money. How are we going to stop this? People also just pretend that they are single mothers so they can get free money from the government. But then when they have a lot of money, they have a baby so they can get more money until the child is six.

Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is not only happening in one part of the world, it's happening all over the world. Because there are teenagers all over the world and you cant really control their hormones or their actions.

By Holly and Kai Fei

Humanity problem or not ?!

Is teenage pregnancy a humanity problem or not? Some people think it is as you can't really control a teenagers irresponsible actions. You can't tell a teenager not to make a baby. But some say you can. They are still growing up and can't even properly take care of themselves. How will they take care of somebody else, especially a new born baby.

By Holly and Kai Fei

Teenage Pregnancy

The government is not a very good role model. As they are allowing young teenagers to raise their baby by giving them money to support them until their 6 years of age. Teenagers keep on having babies just so that they don't have to work and get free money from the government. We think it's unfair as it's OUR tax money that we are giving to immature young teenagers who got themselves knocked-up.

By Holly and Kai Fei
Today teenage pregnancy is becoming a major concern to society. More and more teenagers under the age of 17 are becoming pregnant, concerning family and friends. This wouldn't be a bad thing if teenagers used protection or waited until they were older. Most teenagers do not intend to get pregnant, but when they find out and tell their partner it doesn't always end well. sometimes their partner would not wan to be a father that young and possibly break up with them, saying it wasn't their problem. This would stress the young girl out and she might not know what to do.

Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage Pregnancy is a major concern that too many teenagers are getting pregnant and it ruins their life. Teenagers, under the age of 17 are getting pregnant more and more.

It concerns me because if a teenager gets pregnant it ruin the teenagers life. But not only does it ruin the teenagers life it also ruins the people related to the teenager. Like the child's mum, dad and put a lot of pressure on the boyfriend.

Being pregnant is a very stressful job. it could totally chenge your life.

What is Teenage Pregnancy?

Teenage pregnancy is when someone 18 or under becomes pregnant, it is not always intentional though.. This is happening more often now, becoming a worry and concern to lots of people. Lots of teenagers do not intend to get pregnant, but do. Some boyfriends would break-up with their girlfriend, say it's not their problem, and do not want anything to do with it. This would cause a lot of stress and make the girl very upset.

Teenage pregnancy

All I can just say is this is a hard thing to deal with.

By Holly

Teenage pregnancy

This is a very big issue in some peoples opinion, some people think it is not even a global issue. I think if this keeps on happening there could become a big issue. People are getting pregnant at a very young age ie-13-20-this is a really young age. This is bad for them because if a 13 year old has a baby they wont be able to get as good education as they would've if they wouldn't have gotten pregnant.

Teenage Pregnancy

One of the videos uploaded before about Mailhara says that she is 14, dating a 24 yr old. They have been dating since she was 11. He is ten years older than her. Do you think that when people are young that they shouldn't be allowed to date people that much older than them until they are older? It also says she isn't going to school because Jose WON'T let her because she is pregnant. Don't you think that should be her choice not his???

This video shocked the whole world. A baby faced 13 year old father. It horrified our group that such young teenagers would do such a thing. And that the father didn't even know how to support the baby. If you have a baby, you have to know how to support, love, care, nurture the baby. It's telling us not to start a family unless you can handle it.

By Kai Fei

This video was chosen because of it's meaning. It showed that a decision to keep or put it up for adoption is very hard. It tells you that the decision you make will make a big impact on you later in life. You may regret it or not.

Teenage Pregnancy

When a teenager decides to keep the baby, a lot of stress is put on her shoulders. If they keep it, she will have full responsibility of the baby. Unless her grandparents and boyfriend decide to help. Otherwise she'll have to find a job, work full time to support the baby. In that case she won't have time to 'take care' of it,so she will have to pay for a baby sister. And also she has to go to school every weekday and gets heaps of homework or has to study for exams. The baby won't get as much attention and care that a 'normal' parent would give.

Teenage Pregnancy

Situation 1:
Amy and Matt are boyfriend are girlfriend. They are a happy, young couple that love each other. Amy gets pregnant, she's not a teenager but she is still very young. They decide to keep the baby but give it up for adoption because they don't think they can look after a baby. Amy and Matt stay in touch with the people who adopted him and visit him. Eventually when they are old enough, and prepared for children  they have 3 more boys over the years. They still see their oldest son and are very happy.
Situation 2:
Marie is 19 Simon is also 19. Marie is pregnant and they decide to keep and raise their baby. Both look after the baby and buy the essentials. Simon moves in with Marie so he can be with her and the baby. They have fights with each other but take good care of their little baby boy. Both their parents look after the baby lots and buy toys or essentials they might need.

Teenage Pregnancy

Tennage pregnancy is a very important issue that is no laughing matter, it ruins a teenagers life before it even started. But that is just one persons opinion, some people can still have a proper life they will just have to raise a child (or more) along the way.

TEENAGE PREGNANCY

Teenage pregnancy effects your life so much you just lose it pretty much. I f you get pregnant you do get to choose if you want to keep the baby or not you can get an abortion or you can keep the baby and change your whole life around.

TEENAGE PREGNANCY

Being pregnant effects you and the people around you like your parents, friends and community it effects them in many ways like they might have to look after the baby sometimes they will have to put up with the teenagers stress.

Why did we choose this topic?

Our group chose this topic because we thought that it would be an interesting topic to research. We also chose this topic because it's relevant to us as we are teenagers. It's also good to know about teenage pregnancy because other teenagers our age are going through something that we don't know about. We all knew that this was a big problem and we just wanted to look into it more and see if we could do anything about it.

Teenage Pregnancy

Should teenagers leave their home when pregnant and live with the person that made them pregnant?
It depends if the couple are happy then they should stay together with the baby if they have the baby. But if they are not happy they shouldn't stay together because it will effect the baby. Maybe another option would be to simply abort the baby. Some might say that it's killing a human without letting them take a breathe.

Welcome

Our blog is about teenage pregnancy. Although this only happens to teenagers, everyone around them will be effected by it. Teenage pregnancy is when a young girl 18 or under becomes pregnant, and her whole world turns upside down. She now has to live an abnormal teenage life and has lost her youth. Partying and going out with friends is not an option anymore as she has to take full responsibility of the baby. Money will also be a big issue, unless the government gives them money. Although that doesn't really help the problem at all. It's just telling teenagers it's ok to start a family because the government will pay for them.

This problem is more than just it seems, have a look at our blog and you'll see why.
