Today teenage pregnancy is becoming a major concern to society. More and more teenagers under the age of 17 are becoming pregnant, concerning family and friends. This wouldn't be a bad thing if teenagers used protection or waited until they were older. Most teenagers do not intend to get pregnant, but when they find out and tell their partner it doesn't always end well. sometimes their partner would not wan to be a father that young and possibly break up with them, saying it wasn't their problem. This would stress the young girl out and she might not know what to do.

New Zealand has the third highest birth rate in the world. We also have a high percentage of young teens choosing to abort. I put this down to not enough education towards safe sex and also to New Zealand as a whole not being more open with sexual experiences. In saying that New Zealand teens are more likely to partake in sexual intercorse with no protection which leads to pregnancy and adds to this sad statistic.
